On Monday, Apple will release an update to iOS 8 that will bring Apple Pay<\/strong> and OS X Yosemite<\/a><\/strong> features. iOS 8.1 will mark the official launch of Apple’s digital payment system, Apple Pay<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Apple has recruited an impressive number of retailers to support Apple Pay. Over 500 US banks<\/strong> are supported and major retailers like Starbucks, Macy’s, McDonalds and Target will support Apple Pay starting Monday.<\/p>\n

Most major credit and debit card companies are supported, including American Express, Bank of America, CapitalOne, Chase, Citi, MasterCard, Visa and Wells Fargo.<\/p>\n

To use Apple Pay, you’ll need to have either the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus<\/strong>. These are the only iPhones with near field communication (NFC) chips in them required to use Apple Pay.<\/p>\n
