The move was announced in a very honest post on Snapchat&#8217;s blog.<\/p>\n<p>Ads on Snapchat &#8220;will appear in your Recent Updates from time to time, and you can choose if you want to watch [them]&#8221;. The company promises they won&#8217;s put advertisements in your personal communications. The ads in the <strong>Recent Updates<\/strong> feed will disappear after 24 hours, much like Stories do. Rumors of companies trying to buy the ephemeral chat app have been circulating for over a year.
