Avast Free Antivirus 2015<\/a> is now out, the latest version of the popular free antivirus suite. This year’s version removes the ! from Avast’s name and adds a few new features.<\/p>\n

Avast 2015 has three main new features<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Smart Scan<\/strong>: the same virus scan you’re used to, but now it includes browser add-ons\/extensions, software updates, and ‘Grimefighter’, which aims to remove all the junk that gets installed\/left behind by some programs, slowing your PC down.<\/p>\n

Browser Cleanup<\/strong>: this removes unwanted toolbars and returns hijacked search bars to you. Sometimes, installing an app quickly can result in unwanted changes to your default browser, so this is a neat tool.<\/p>\n

Home Network Security<\/strong>: find potential security holes in your WiFi or home network, keeping your router and any connected devices as safe as possible.<\/p>\n

As ever, Avast’s premium suites, Internet Security<\/strong> and Premier<\/strong> have more features, notably a one-stop software updater and Remote Assistance in case something goes wrong.<\/p>\n
