Facebook<\/a> has changed how much control users have over the News Feed<\/strong> a lot over the last few years, culminating in the current algorithm-controlled feed<\/strong> that’s designed to give you only the stuff you really want to see. But it’s fair to say it doesn’t completely work, and now Facebook has introduced some new controls.<\/p>\n

Tapping the arrow on any post gives you the option to save a post to read later, say ‘I don’t want to see this’, which leads to Facebook asking you why, unfollow that person or page, or get notifications every time that person\/page posts on Facebook. There’s also a Manage News Feed<\/strong> tab hidden away in the More<\/strong> tab on the app. This allows you to see who you’ve unfollowed and so on, and lets you undo those decisions if you want.<\/p>\n

None of these controls are new, they are just being presented differently. You aren’t getting any controls over how the News Feed algorithm works – you’ll still see older popular posts and so on, and a heavily edited feed of what your friends, pages and groups post on the social network.<\/p>\n
