Now <a href=\"http:\/\/telegram.en.softonic.com\/iphone\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Telegram<\/a>, a competitor, has been updated with what it calls &#8216;<strong>Privacy 2.0<\/strong>&#8216;, which aims to give you more control over who sees what information.<\/p>\n<p>Telegram on iOS and Android now gives you the ability to control exactly who sees your &#8216;<strong>last seen<\/strong>&#8216; time stamp. In WhatsApp, you can turn it on and off, but now with Telegram you can choose who sees it. There are three simple options &#8211; share it with <strong>everybody<\/strong>, <strong>my contacts<\/strong> and <strong>no one.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are also two new options &#8211; <strong>Always Share With<\/strong> and <strong>Never Share With<\/strong>. This means that you can add exceptions like &#8216;only share with my contacts and these people&#8217;, or &#8216;never share with my contacts except these people&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-77139\" title=\"telegram privacy\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/11\/telegram-privacy-320x568.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"568\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/11\/telegram-privacy-320x568.png 320w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/11\/telegram-privacy-144x256.png 144w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2014\/11\/telegram-privacy.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The second part of Telegram&#8217;s new privacy drive is &#8216;Self-destructing Accounts&#8217;. By default, if you don\u00a1t use your account for six months, Telegram will delete your account along with all messages and data it holds. You can change the self-destruct period from one month up to a year.
