Google calls their version &#8220;<a title=\"Google+ 4.0 for Android brings location sharing, better photo editing\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/google-4-0-for-android-brings-location-sharing-better-photo-editing\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">auto-awesome<\/a>&#8220;, which debuted May of 2013. Both social networks now automatically enhance your photos to look better, but Google+ still wins for <a title=\"Google gets romantic on Valentine's Day with Chromecast fireplace mode, Auto-Awesome hearts\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/google-valentines-day-fireplace-hearts\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cuteness<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The auto-enhance feature uses computers to figure out what will make a photo look better. If your picture is too dark, the <strong>computer algorithm<\/strong> will boost the exposure. They&#8217;ll be able to <strong>adjust the intensity<\/strong> of the auto-enhanced feature. By defaulting to auto-enhanced images, Facebook hopes it&#8217;ll take the guess work out of editing your photos before posting them.<\/p>\n<p>The auto-enhance feature has existed in Facebook&#8217;s apps for a while but it was never enabled by default until now. You still have the option to edit your photos with filters and other enhancements if you want manual control.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement follows Instagram&#8217;s release of <a title=\"Instagram gets five new photo filters, lets you hide filters you don't use\" href=\"http:\/\/news.en.softonic.com\/instagram-gets-five-new-photo-filters\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">five new photo filters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Facebook for iOS\" href=\"http:\/\/facebook.en.softonic.com\/iphone\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook for iOS<\/a> users will be getting auto-enhanced photos starting today. The feature is coming soon to <a title=\"Facebook for Android\" href=\"http:\/\/facebook.en.softonic.com\/android\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Android<\/a> as well, though a specific date wasn&#8217;t mentioned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE<\/strong>: If you don&#8217;t want Facebook to aut0-enhance your photos by default because you trust your photography skills, you can do so pretty easily. <em>Gizmodo<\/em> has a <a title=\"Gizmodo\" href=\"http:\/\/fieldguide.gizmodo.com\/how-to-disable-facebooks-new-auto-enhance-photo-feature-1672153229\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">guide<\/a> on how to do it. Simply navigate to the <em>More<\/em> button from the sidebar and tap on <em>Video and Photos<\/em>.
