The frustration can cause severe damage to your laptop screen. There must be a better way, right? Yes! There&#8217;s a better way.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you pounce your device with a coffee mug: there are some tweaks and tips to help you get faster <a href=\"http:\/\/utorrent.en.softonic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">uTorrent<\/a> downloads. Read on to find other options for downloading <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/solutions\/what-are-the-best-torrent-search-engines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">torrents<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/solutions\/what-are-the-best-torrent-sites-for-audio-books\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">audiobook torrents<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/solutions\/what-are-the-best-torrent-sites-for-tv-shows-and-series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tv torrents<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"howto_container schema-howto-acf-block\"><ol><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Increase the number of seeders and peers<\/h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2021\/04\/utorrent1_zanrsl.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"0\" height=\"0\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the first and fastest things you can do is check the number of peers and seeders for the specific file. Typically, the download will be more immediate if more people share the file after they&#8217;ve downloaded it. When downloading torrent files with thousands of seeders and peers, the golden rule is only to use reputable sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can quickly increase the number of contributors as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open the torrent with uTorrent and start the download.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Navigate to the torrent you&#8217;re downloading and right-click on it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the drop-down menu, choose &#8216;Properties.&#8217;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copy the trackers on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/torrent-trackers.en.softonic.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">uTorrent<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and paste them into the &#8216;Trackers&#8217; tab.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You&#8217;ll see the number of seeders and peers increase and typically your download speed too.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Increase the file-specific bandwidth<\/h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2021\/04\/Torrent2_pcnjof.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"0\" height=\"0\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you&#8217;re downloading multiple torrents simultaneously, you can allot more bandwidth to the one you want to finish faster.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Right-click on the file that you want to download first.<br \/>\n&#8211; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover the mouse pointer over the selection &#8220;Bandwidth Allocation.&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; On the side menu, choose the option &#8220;High.&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Now, go through this process with the other torrents that are downloading. Change those to &#8220;Low&#8221; instead of &#8220;High.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Change more bandwidth settings<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also increase uTorrent download speeds by using the bandwidth settings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; choose the selection named \u201cOptions.\u201d<br \/>\n&#8211; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on &#8220;Preferences.&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Find the tab marked &#8220;Bandwidth.&#8221; Use these parameters:<br \/>\nSet the maximum upload rate to 14.<br \/>\nSet the maximum download rate to 1800.<br \/>\nSet the global maximum number of connections to 2329.<br \/>\nSet the maximum number of connected peers per torrent to 257.<br \/>\nSet the number of upload slots per torrent to 14.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Connect directly to the seeds<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The seeder&#8217;s firewall settings can often inhibit the seeding process, meaning you aren&#8217;t getting any download data on some seeders. It isn&#8217;t necessary to reconfigure the seeder&#8217;s firewall settings, however. What you can do instead is to allow your uTorrent client to receive the data directly with no firewalls to interfere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Select &#8220;Options&#8221; and then choose &#8220;Preferences.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8211; <\/span>Go to the option marked &#8220;Connections&#8221; and check to see that the option &#8220;Enable UPnP Port Mapping&#8221; is checked.<br \/>\n&#8211; This option allows you to avoid the firewall and connect directly with the seeder, speeding up the download process.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li><div class=\"howto_item\"><h2>Download via a direct, wired Internet connection<\/h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2021\/04\/torrent4_bbkzea.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"0\" height=\"0\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We&#8217;ve all become used to the convenience of Wi-Fi, but a wireless connection can be dramatically slower than a direct or wired ethernet connection. Everything looks terrific, and you want to grab it all. However, loading up too many items into your download queue at once will slow all of them down. You can manage the number of active downloads in the queue section of your preferences and set it to &#8220;1&#8221; to force one-by-one downloading of your torrents.<br><br>Of course, your internet speed is also a contributing factor to how quickly you can download torrent files.
