{"id":90036,"date":"2016-08-18T09:16:42","date_gmt":"2016-08-18T09:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sftarticles.wpenginepowered.com\/en\/?p=90036"},"modified":"2025-07-01T23:56:00","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T06:56:00","slug":"new-google-apps-to-take-on-skype-facetime-and-whatsapp-n","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms-articles.softonic.io\/en\/new-google-apps-to-take-on-skype-facetime-and-whatsapp-n\/","title":{"rendered":"New Google Apps to Take On Skype, Facetime and Whatsapp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Google\u2019s solution for free mobile calls and messaging was introduced to us earlier this week and is <strong>positioned to take on the likes of Apple\u2019s Facetime, Microsoft\u2019s Skype and Whatsapp. <\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<a name=\"duo\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Google Duo<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The first of the two apps is Google Duo, a video-calling application that, unlike Facetime, is available on both Android and iOS. This means that you\u2019ll now be able to make free calls to all your friends and family, regardless if they\u2019re using an Android or iOS device. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The one feature that Google hopes will get you very excited about is <em>Knock Knock<\/em>.
