Big promises made about Oreo\u2019s capabilities have<strong> Android users all over the world<\/strong> waiting eagerly for the handsets to be updated\u00a0but a few might be starting to <strong>think twice<\/strong> about opting in when their time to update comes.<\/p>\n<p>Google are already aware of this issue but some users have started to see <strong>spikes in data usage<\/strong> since they\u2019ve updated their handsets to Android 8.0. The bug that users are detecting is causing <strong>mobile data to be used over Wi-Fi<\/strong>. This means that even if they\u2019re logged on to a Wi-Fi network they\u2019re <strong>still having to use their mobile data plan<\/strong> to access the internet.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/twZggnNbFqo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re an Android Oreo user then this glitch might be effecting you. To <strong>check your mobile data usage<\/strong> you need to access your quick settings menu by swiping down and then hold your finger over the mobile data icon. If you notice that you have been using more data than usual and you\u2019re worried about incurring extra charges there is a <strong>simple, if not slightly annoying, fix<\/strong>. To access the internet via a Wi-Fi connection you\u2019ll have to disable mobile data to do so.<\/p>\n<p>For now the annoying fix will have to do as Google haven\u2019t given word yet about when Oreo users can expect to be fixed.
