Perhaps you&#8217;re&nbsp;<strong>worried about privacy and security<\/strong> or you just want to <strong>tidy up your online footprint<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the reason, you\u2019ll be happy to know that it is<strong> actually possible to delete a Gmail account completely.<\/strong> Most people aren\u2019t even aware of this because they\u2019ve never tried it before or thought to look into the possibility. You\u2019re different, however; so let\u2019s have a look at how it\u2019s done.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Completely Delete a Gmail Account<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>First, &nbsp;open your <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.google.com\/\">Account settings.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Under account preferences, you will find a <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.google.com\/preferences#deleteservices\">Delete your account or service<\/a>&nbsp;option.<\/li>\n<li>From there, <strong>click&nbsp;Delete products<\/strong>. It\u2019s good to know that you can also delete your Google account completely. That would remove your search history, YouTube account, and anything else related to Google.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Gmail address you want to delete.<\/li>\n<li>Type in the password.<\/li>\n<li>Press Next.<\/li>\n<li>Find<strong> the trash can icon<\/strong> next to Gmail. Click it.<\/li>\n<li>Enter an alternative email address. <strong>This address will be your new Google username<\/strong>, so be sure not to use an email that you can\u2019t access.<\/li>\n<li>Click&nbsp;Send verification email.<\/li>\n<li>You will now get an email from <a href=\"mailto:no-reply@accounts.google.com\">no-reply@accounts.google.com<\/a><u>,<\/u> which will give you the link you have to click in order to delete your Gmail.<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, log into your Gmail account.<\/li>\n<li>From here, you will just have to follow the instructions. Once you click&nbsp;Yes, I want to delete <a href=\"mailto:youremail@gmail.com\">youremail@gmail.com,&nbsp;<\/a>the email account will be completely deleted forever. This step can\u2019t be undone.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Once you complete all of these steps, your Gmail inbox and outbox will be wiped. People who send you emails will get a delivery failure message every time.
