So if you\u2019ve moved on, don\u2019t leave your email client hanging on for a possible reunion. Whether you\u2019ve switched providers, have been inundated with spam, want to safeguard against vulnerability, or simply want to try something new, you deserve a clean break.<\/p>\n

Before you start<\/h3>\n

Before you begin, think about how deleting your Yahoo! Mail account might affect you. If you\u2019re paying for any services, such as Yahoo! Mail Pro, you\u2019ll immediately lose access<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The same goes for other Yahoo! Mail services such as Flickr and Tumblr. Once you\u2019ve terminated your account, you lose access to it all \u2013 including all your photos and documents stored on Yahoo! Mail\u2019s servers.<\/p>\n

And make sure you tell friends and family members your Yahoo! Mail address won\u2019t work<\/strong>. Especially anyone who might not email you regularly \u2013 like a business associate, client, or that old flame you\u2019ve been hoping to hear from. Have a peek at your address book and past emails to ensure you don\u2019t lose anyone important.<\/p>\n

Have you signed up to any external services with your Yahoo! Mail address? Netflix, Facebook, Twitter etc? How to cancel your Yahoo! Mail account<\/h2>\n

Sign into whichever account you\u2019d like to delete, and visit Yahoo! Mail\u2019s\u00a0account termination page<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

You\u2019ll then get a warning note about what terminating your account entails. But if you don\u2019t use Yahoo! Mail for anything other than emailing, there\u2019s not much to worry about here.<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve read the text, click Continue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 2.<\/h3>\n

You\u2019ll now be asked to confirm your identity. In the example below, you just need your email address.<\/p>\n

Enter your email address (or whichever form of identification it asks for) and click, Yes, terminate this account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
