This year is no different as we\u2019ve seen the world\u2019s first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2018\/01\/10\/there-s-a-new-sex-robot-in-town-say-hello-to-solana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">consumer sex robot<\/a> and even a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/1\/10\/16865506\/laundroid-laundry-folding-machine-foldimate-ces-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$16,0000 robot that\u2019ll fold your laundry<\/a> for you. Our favorite so far, however, is the <strong>collaboration between Toyota and Pizza Hut<\/strong>. They\u2019ve given us a concept design for an <strong>autonomous van that\u2019ll not only deliver pizzas but could also make them too.<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Introducing the first Pizza Hut fully autonomous delivery concept vehicle. US Pizza Hut President Artie Starrs said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are focused on technology-based solutions that enable our team members and drivers to deliver even better customer experiences\u2026 With Toyota, we are excited to be partnering with an undisputed leader in human mobility with a reputation for innovation, reliability and efficiency, as we define the pizza delivery experience of the future.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Pizza Hut are looking to the future and feel that Toyota are the perfect partner to help them get there. For Toyota the e-Palette will not just be something that delivers pizzas. They say that <strong>each vehicle can reconfigured and repurposed in only 24 hours<\/strong>. Toyota also have plans for partnerships with other big names including <strong>Amazon and Uber<\/strong>. They hope to have an autonomous vehicle showcase at the<strong> 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo<\/strong>, with American testing to start soon after.<\/p>\n<p>The future is literally just around the corner then. <strong>Pizza Hut will begin recording delivery data from the human drivers<\/strong> this year in a bid to improve their algorithm before the e-palette hits the streets.<\/p>\n<p>If this all seems a little familiar to you it might be because we\u2019ve already seen this concept in action in the 4<sup>th<\/sup> series of Black Mirror.
