With the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2019\/01\/20\/sheryl-sandberg-admits-to-facebook-stumbles.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook privacy scandals<\/a>, <b>you might be rethinking whether the shortcut is worth it.<\/b> With Facebook user data turning up all over the place <b>it could be a good time to get your house in order and limit the accounts you use Facebook to access.<\/b> You\u2019ve always been able to do this one account at a time, but fortunately\u00a0<b>Facebook has just added the option of controlling your app permissions in bulk.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This new setting makes it easier than ever to check and take control of which apps you log in to using Facebook. All you have to do to access the new setting is go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/settings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Settings<\/b><\/a> in the main menu and then click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/settings?tab=applications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Apps<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Once you click Apps, the menu will be front and center. Just <b>select the apps you no longer want to access using your Facebook account<\/b> and click <b>Remove<\/b>. You\u2019ll be shown a disclaimer from Facebook explaining that removing these accounts <b>may delete your account with the third party app<\/b> if Facebook has been the only way you\u2019ve ever created an account or accessed the app. The warning looks like this:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_127510\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-127510\" style=\"width: 457px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-127510 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2018\/04\/RemoveSpotify.jpg\" alt=\"Be sure that you're willing to take the risk!\" width=\"457\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2018\/04\/RemoveSpotify.jpg 457w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2018\/04\/RemoveSpotify-300x196.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 457px) 100vw, 457px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-127510\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">There&#8217;s a chance that removing your synced third party app will delete your account.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If you\u2019re OK with this, you merely confirm by checking the box and clicking <b>Remove<\/b>. Clicking\u00a0<strong>edit<\/strong> brings up the following window:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_127509\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-127509\" style=\"width: 459px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-127509 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2018\/04\/AppsWebsitesGames.jpg\" alt=\"Be sure you feel the same way about all the apps you select.\" width=\"459\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2018\/04\/AppsWebsitesGames.jpg 459w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2018\/04\/AppsWebsitesGames-300x246.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-127509\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Adjust all third party app settings at once.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Disabling<\/strong>\u00a0this feature is a one-stop shop to severing ties with third party apps such as <a href=\"https:\/\/spotify.en.softonic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spotify<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/words-with-friends.en.softonic.com\/web-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Words with Friends<\/a>.\u00a0This new bulk action feature is a welcome addition to Facebook.
