Estas explosiones de supernova generan nucleos\u00edntesis, fusionando nuevos n\u00facleos at\u00f3micos de elementos m\u00e1s pesados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los cient\u00edficos utilizar\u00e1n los datos de la nave COSI para <strong>cartografiar la formaci\u00f3n de estos elementos en la V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea<\/strong>. Adem\u00e1s, las observaciones de COSI proporcionar\u00e1n nuevos conocimientos sobre la aniquilaci\u00f3n de positrones, el equivalente en antimateria de los electrones, que parece originarse en el centro de la galaxia. Tras ser seleccionada por la NASA en 2021 como la pr\u00f3xima misi\u00f3n del programa Exploradores, COSI recibi\u00f3 la aprobaci\u00f3n formal para su desarrollo y lanzamiento en 2027, con un presupuesto global de entre 267 y 294 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La nave espacial COSI, construida por <strong>Northrop Grumman<\/strong>, pesa menos de una tonelada, pero viajar\u00e1 sola a la \u00f3rbita en un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.softonic.com\/articulos\/spacex-acaba-de-publicar-el-lanzamiento-mas-bonito-que-hemos-visto-jamas\">cohete <strong>Falcon 9<\/strong><\/a>. La misi\u00f3n operar\u00e1 a unos 550 kil\u00f3metros sobre el ecuador, en una \u00f3rbita elegida para evitar la interferencia de radiaci\u00f3n sobre la Anomal\u00eda del Atl\u00e1ntico Sur.
