Conceptuellement, la voile solaire de la NASA \u00e9voque les anciens navires qui naviguaient sur les mers gr\u00e2ce au vent, bien que dans ce cas, le vaisseau spatial se d\u00e9place gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la pression exerc\u00e9e par les rayons du soleil sur la voile r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissante. Cette m\u00e9thode de propulsion, contrairement aux syst\u00e8mes traditionnels qui d\u00e9pendent de carburant, n&#8217;est limit\u00e9e que par la durabilit\u00e9 des mat\u00e9riaux et l&#8217;efficacit\u00e9 des syst\u00e8mes de contr\u00f4le.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&#8217;ACS3 est un <strong>CubeSat de douze unit\u00e9s<\/strong> (12U) construit par <strong>NanoAvionics<\/strong>, de la taille d&#8217;un four \u00e0 micro-ondes, qui d\u00e9ploie sa voile d&#8217;environ 80 m\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s en utilisant des m\u00e2ts flexibles en polym\u00e8re et en fibre de carbone.
