En démarrant sa vie sur PC et Mac en 2009, Plants vs Zombies est réellement devenu populaire l’année suivante avec son adaptation sur iOS (iPhone, iPad et iPod touch). La suite est donc attendue avec impatience.
PopCap a également publié deux autres vidéos en dévoilant de nouveaux éléments de gameplay Plants vs Zombies. Le principe du jeu reste le même (un tower defense) mais il semble y avoir beaucoup plus de variété dans cette nouvelle version, avec notamment des zombies pirates.

Plants vs Zombies 2 sera probablement disponible sur iOS et Android, même si aucune communication n’a été faite. Sortie prévue en juillet 2013.
