Hamster Corporation has brought UFO: A Day in the Life to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 through its Console Archives label, finally giving the 1999 PlayStation oddity an official Western release 27 years after it first came out. If you’ve been curious about this hard-to-find Japanese cult game, this is the first straightforward way to play it on current hardware, and the added save states and rewind take some of the sting out of the original version.

You play a tiny alien whose UFO has crashed, then poke around an apartment building looking for 50 hidden aliens. The way you find them is the fun part: watch the residents, catch the moments when their behavior gets weird, and snap photos when something strange happens. That setup is already unusual, and the Love-de-Lic connection gives it extra weight. Love-de-Lic was the former Square team behind Moon: Remix RPG Adventure. So if you care about neglected PS1 history or game preservation, this lands as more than just another retro re-release.

If offbeat Japanese games are your thing, there’s a lot to like here. But there’s one big limitation: Hamster Corporation translated the menus and the digital manual, while in-game dialogue and story text are still only in Japanese. General Grievous is back in the Star Wars conversation. Dark Horse has announced Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories: General Grievous for early 2026, and Disney+ has already put a pretty direct thematic successor on screen in Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi.

In the comic, Michael Moreci writes and Caio Filipe handles the art. Dark Horse says the story sends Grievous to the jungle planet Katou during the Clone Wars on a conquest mission. Then Count Dooku’s assignment curdles into a lethal hunt, with Jedi Knight Cardiff Baye and a squad of clone troopers closing in. It sounds like more than a brief battlefield appearance, with the story digging into how Grievous thinks and what drives him.

The Disney+ series doesn’t literally resurrect Grievous, but the resemblance is hard to miss. General Nawaam, a Force-sensitive human leading an anti-Jedi campaign, carries part of that same menace. So does Gennoh, who replaces more and more of his body with cybernetics. They aren’t direct copies, but the Grievous echoes are obvious.

If you’ve kept up with Grievous as the lightsaber-collecting Jedi hunter, this new attention on him is probably worth a look. His 2024 cameo in Star Wars: Tales of the Empire already showed there’s still plenty of interest in the ruthless strategist.

Marvel hasn’t confirmed any new Jessica Jones power, and there’s no credible sign that she’s picked up some “gross” new ability. The rumor going around doesn’t hold up. The piece behind it barely gives you any real information, and it doesn’t lead back to a comic, a press release, a verified Marvel update, recent coverage, or even the kind of fan discussion you’d expect if this were real.

Jessica Jones still has the powers she’s long been known for: superhuman strength, enhanced durability, and limited flight. And honestly, her stories have never depended much on flashy power upgrades anyway. They work because of the trauma, the detective angle, and the bite in the character writing.

If something this strange had actually happened in a major Marvel book, it would’ve shown up by now in comic news, official previews, or both. The mix-up may be coming from alternate takes on the character. Marvel’s 2022 series The Variants featured a multiverse Jessica Jones who became Captain America, and a July 2026 What If…? one-shot imagined Jessica Jones as Spider-Girl after getting bitten by the radioactive spider. Neither of those changed the main Jessica Jones in continuity.

So if you keep up with Jessica Jones news, this rumor isn’t really worth buying into, especially since the talk around Daredevil: Born Again has been about something else entirely: powers that fluctuate or seem weaker after childbirth. You can always check Marvel’s official announcements and preview pages yourself. At the moment, there’s nothing there that confirms this.

Silo returned to Apple TV+ for season 3 on July 3, 2026, and this time the show goes wider. The mystery gets bigger, and the story uses two timelines to dig into the origins of the silos.

Since premiering on July 3, 2026, Silo has reportedly become Apple TV+’s most-watched series worldwide. Apple says it reached No. 1 in 101 countries. Rotten Tomatoes currently lists the show at 88% for season 1, 92% for season 2, and 100% for the season 3 debut.

Based on Hugh Howey’s Wool novels, Silo follows 10,000 people living in an underground silo, where everyone’s been told the outside world is toxic. Rebecca Ferguson plays engineer Juliette Nichols, who begins investigating a suspicious death and ends up uncovering something much larger: a conspiracy involving the silo, the people in charge, and the truth beyond its walls.

If you’re into the kind of mystery Lost built its audience on, the layered world-building of The Expanse, immersive production design, slow-burn suspense, and bigger ideas about truth, control, class, and historical revisionism, season 3 is an easy one to recommend. It also helps that Apple TV+ has already confirmed a fourth and final season for summer 2027, so you know the story gets to finish on its own terms.

Ransom Canyon came back for season 2 on Netflix on July 23, 2026, and the opening week was softer this time around. Netflix says the new season pulled 4.1 million views, down from 7.2 million for season 1, a drop of about 43%. Even so, Ransom Canyon made it to No. 1 on Netflix’s Top 10. That kind of second-season dip is starting to look pretty common on the platform, and by itself it doesn’t mean a show is headed for cancellation. Season 1, after all, only landed a 45% score on Rotten Tomatoes, according to Rotten Tomatoes, and it still found an audience that wanted that Yellowstone-adjacent blend of romance, family drama, soapiness, and present-day Western tension.

And no, this wasn’t a split season. Season 1 debuted in April 2025, Netflix renewed the show in June 2025, and season 2 arrived on July 23, 2026. This time it runs eight episodes instead of 10.

Adapted from Jodi Thomas’s books, Ransom Canyon centers on three ranching families in Texas Hill Country. Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly return as Staten Kirkland and Quinn O’Grady, and the story picks up six months after season 1, with the conflict in the canyon still simmering. Not everybody came back, though. Steve Howey and Patricia Clarkson are among the new additions.

If you liked season 1, season 2 is probably still an easy yes. It’s streaming on Netflix now.

Netflix dropped The East Palace, a South Korean dark fantasy miniseries, on July 17, 2026, and it didn’t take long for the show to turn into one of the platform’s biggest global launches of the year.

In its first two days, The East Palace pulled in 4.9 million views and climbed to No. 2 on Netflix’s non-English Top 10, along with No. 4 worldwide overall, based on Netflix’s own rankings. It was made as a standalone, eight-episode miniseries, but it’s easy to see why people are already talking about a season 2. The show mixes medieval Korean folklore, supernatural mythology, and high-intensity action with inventive plotting, a suffocating atmosphere, and polished visual effects. That combination helps it rise above a fantasy field that’s already packed, and if character-driven dark fantasy is your thing, this one’s worth a look.

Rotten Tomatoes currently has The East Palace at 100% from critics and 91% from audiences, and a lot of the show’s pull comes from the chemistry between Nam Joo-hyuk and Roh Yoon-seo, which gives the supernatural chaos something solid to hang on to.

Netflix hasn’t announced a second season. Still, the door is obviously open. The company has a habit of going back to international hits when they break through, and a lot of the coverage so far has missed two things: how well The East Palace seems to be connecting in non-English markets, and how much of that momentum may be coming from the show’s Korean historical and mythological depth, which gives it a fresher feel and leaves people wanting more.

Mark Lawrence kicked off Red Sister, the 2017 opening novel in the Book of the Ancestor trilogy, with one of the best hooks modern fantasy has produced: “It is important, when killing a nun, to ensure that you bring an army of sufficient size.” The book follows Nona Grey as she begins her training at the Convent of Sweet Mercy.

Close to a decade later, Red Sister, followed by Grey Sister and Holy Sister, still feels like its own thing. Nona is violent, gifted, and dropped into a convent where girls are trained to become assassin nuns, warriors, mystics, and, more than anything, survivors. The story mixes bloodshed with sisterhood, then folds in fate, agency, and the price that comes with power.

That opening line still works because it does three jobs at once. It gives you intrigue, a streak of dark wit, and a sense of mythic scale before the book has barely started. And Red Sister earns that promise on Abeth, an ice-locked world where people live in a thin habitable corridor. It brings in fantasy magic and prophecy, some sharp sci-fi edges, a magic-school coming-of-age arc, and world-building with real momentum behind it. The pacing holds, too, and the book went on to earn a 2018 David Gemmell Legend Award nomination.

If dark fantasy with a formidable lead is your lane, Red Sister is an easy one to pick up. Just don’t get crossed up by the newly announced film The Red Sister, which has nothing to do with Mark Lawrence’s book. There still isn’t any known film or TV adaptation of Book of the Ancestor.

Start with Red Sister, then move on to Grey Sister and Holy Sister, and after that you can keep going with Mark Lawrence’s related Book of the Ice series.

Bethesda Game Studios has officially confirmed Fallout 5. The next mainline game has moved into pre-production, while The Elder Scrolls VI is still the studio’s main development priority. That settles years of speculation, but it also tells you not to expect a release anytime soon.

It’s the clearest roadmap yet from Bethesda Game Studios, though the message on timing hasn’t changed much. The Elder Scrolls VI still comes first, which means Fallout 5 is a long way from launch.

Bethesda Game Studios’ broader plan also suggests the company is being more open than usual. It includes remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, a new Fallout project with Obsidian Entertainment, and Creation Engine 3 powering both The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 to help move development along faster, even if that still won’t fix every problem tied to scale, staffing, and production.

If you keep up with Fallout, this confirmation matters, even with the criticism around its timing after layoffs at Microsoft, complaints from a union that the roadmap could pull attention away from those job cuts, and the wider doubt that Bethesda Game Studios can push several huge RPGs forward with a smaller workforce.

There’s nothing to download yet, since Fallout 5 is still years away and Bethesda Game Studios is still focused on The Elder Scrolls VI.

As of May 2026, Jorah Mormont hasn’t had any new official release, even though some headlines make it sound like he has. There’s no confirmed HBO series, movie, book, or merchandise launch tied to Jorah Mormont, and nothing has been confirmed by HBO, Warner Bros. Discovery, George R. R. Martin, or Funko. So “officially available now” is misleading. The most likely source of that wording is a May 2026 Etsy listing for a custom Jorah Funko-style figure, not a spinoff, a tie-in, or a newly issued licensed figure.

If you’re a collector, that unofficial status matters. It affects authenticity, resale value, and whether the item belongs in a licensed set. Official Jorah Mormont merch already exists: Funko Pop! Jorah Mormont #40 from 2016, which was later vaulted, and the 2019 Daenerys & Jorah at the Battle of Winterfell set. But there’s no evidence of a new 2026 release.

The real recent Jorah Mormont news is about Iain Glen. In March 2026, he looked back on the role, spoke warmly about Emilia Clarke, and connected Jorah’s quieter, tragic tone to his theater and Shakespeare background. He’s also been tied to The Last Front, Silo season 2, and the Filipino biopic Quezon.

For now, you’ll find independent Jorah Mormont items on Etsy and Redbubble, not a new official Game of Thrones release.
