Dead By Daylight has celebrated its tenth anniversary this 2026, and for this, they held a 10th-anniversary stream where they clarified everything that is to come for the franchise. And it’s quite a lot.
With almost two hours of announcements for the most dedicated fans, they have created a roadmap for the game’s next year that includes not only new features for the game but also for the franchise in general.
An extraordinarily shaped video game
The biggest news has been the first details about the video game movie, announced in 2023. Written by Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, known for having written the remakes of Maniac and The Hills Have Eyes and the Conjuring franchise respectively, and directed by Thordur Palsson, director of The Damned, a modest indie production that did not excite either critics or audiences. Confirming that filming will begin in 2027.
For the near future, it has been confirmed that on June 25, Shane Wiigwaas, the first Native American survivor, will be added. Meanwhile, in August, a chapter created by the community (Chrorus of Sin) will arrive, a licensed chapter of Terrifier in November, a new map set in a shopping mall in December, and a chapter based on The Casting of Frank Stone in March 2027.
They have also confirmed numerous skins with The Walking Dead, Silent Hill f, and a nurse skin for The Spirit. In addition to collaborations with Diablo IV and Scooby Doo.
In addition to all of the above, the game will have a significant graphical overhaul in 2027 that will change its animations, add additional voice lines, improve hair, introduce dynamic atmospheric weather, and enhance maps and environments, making it a completely different game. On top of that, they are working on two new modes, a 1 vs. 1 and a zombie mode, as well as an official tool for mods that they hope to launch next year, they have celebrated the tenth anniversary of Dead By Daylight in style. Because it seems that this killer, after all, is very much alive.
Fans of small studio PC games will love Dead by Daylight because it rests in that sweet spot between indie and AAA, where you essentially get a complete, high-quality game at indie prices. This action game looks as good as a full-price game and doesn’t skimp on gameplay either, as a multiplayer game with an exciting 4-vs-1 format.
Nintendo has presented the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Although it was leaked and we were eagerly waiting for it, that hasn’t changed how they were going to present it at Nintendo. We have seen just a few seconds of it, no gameplay, and the only thing we know about the game is that it looks absolutely spectacular. With a more realistic and modern style, similar to the experiments people do when they make Nintendo games in Unreal Engine 5, it seems they wanted to experiment with that approach more typical of other companies. We shouldn’t be surprised either. Star Fox already […]
Nintendo has presented the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Although it was leaked and we were eagerly waiting for it, that did not change how they were going to present it at Nintendo. We have only seen a few seconds of it, no gameplay, and the only thing we know about the game is that it looks absolutely spectacular. With a more realistic and modern style, similar to the experiments that people do when they create Nintendo games in Unreal Engine 5, it seems they wanted to experiment with that approach more typical of other companies.
It shouldn’t surprise us either. Star Fox already does this. And that’s why it’s interesting to think about what other games could have this treatment in the future. Not games that we want to have this treatment, as that would be a different topic, but rather games that we believe would fit with this approach. Whether it’s because of how they fit with this kind of graphics or how they would serve to bring back perhaps forgotten franchises, it would be an excuse for Nintendo to return to certain titles and specific franchises. Although we can’t promise that this would make their fans happy.
F-Zero
One of the franchises that makes the most sense to revive, taking advantage of graphic capabilities to attract the audience, is F-Zero. A franchise born on the SNES and based on pure speed and science fiction that, moreover, today has no competition at all. No futuristic racing games of this kind are being made anymore, let alone with such a marked arcade tone, and even a remake of F-Zero GX with current graphics would be celebrated by its fans and attract the attention of a larger audience. And seeing what they have done with Star Fox, it seems perfectly possible to do it with F-Zero.
Super Mario Sunshine
Although today it seems to be the black sheep of the Super Mario series, upon its release Super Mario Sunshine was tremendously celebrated for the originality of the title and its absolute beauty. The ability to ensure crystal-clear waters, perfectly realistic skies, and a much cleaner world, and above all, less wobbly physics and hitboxes, could make many people realize how excellent this game is. Although it would surely also make all those who already love Super Mario Sunshine hate this hypothetical remake.
Pilotwings
The most controversial title on the list, which never quite achieved a true cult status on either Super Nintendo or Nintendo 64. Pilotwings has never returned —except for Pilotwings Resort on 3DS— perhaps because, even though they were pioneers of 3D, that also took a toll on them: they were still experimenting with the possibilities of 3D. At Nintendo, taking risks with franchises that didn’t work for them in the past is not their style, but perhaps by adding a new, more modern aesthetic and adjusting the controls to current expectations, it would perform better. And there would be more fans of Pilotwings in general.
Punch-Out!!
Probably the game that would need the least changes on paper, but would require the most adjustments in reality. Although a new Punch-Out!! would be very interesting, it would also be a tough sell: it’s a difficult game, with a classic design that wouldn’t excite contemporary audiences. But what if it had modern graphics, an emphasis on different types of moves, a more developed campaign, and perhaps roguelike elements or progression systems? Again, classic Punch-Out!! fans would hate it, but it could have the potential to reach a more general audience.
Nintendogs
This is the game they should make. Many people will disagree, saying it’s not an important game for that, and all those people are wrong. Nintendogs is the perfect game to apply the supposedly more realistic and elaborate graphics they seek in this kind of remakes. They intended it in the original Nintendogs, and the improvement in graphics would only help them. And the idea of taking care of puppies never gets old: there will always be an audience for that kind of game. So, Nintendo, what are you waiting for? It’s an incredibly simple fruit. Even easier to pick than the one from F-Zero.
Mintrocket, the creators of Dave the Diver, have announced what their next video game will be. Moving away from their most well-known creation, they will take the reins of the upcoming adaptation of one of the most iconic characters in Japanese pop culture. They are going to make the next video game adaptation of Godzilla in a mobile game that they have presented with a very eye-catching trailer. Named Godzilla Defense Force: X, it is a strategy and management game that aims to cover the seventy-two years of Godzilla’s history in a very particular way. And the fact is that, to […]
Mintrocket, the creators of Dave the Diver, have announced what their next video game will be. Stepping away from their most well-known creation, they will take the reins of the upcoming adaptation of one of the most iconic characters in Japanese pop culture. They are going to make the next video game adaptation of Godzilla in a mobile game that they have presented with a very eye-catching trailer.
Named Godzilla Defense Force: X, it is a strategy and management game that aims to cover the seventy-two years of Godzilla’s history in a very particular way. And the thing is, unlike all the games in the franchise so far, we will not control the monsters. We will control the Earth Defense Force that fights against the monsters and seeks to defend itself from them in different cities around the world in different historical periods.
A man obsessed with Godzilla
This is not the first approach that Mintrocket has had to Japan’s favorite saurian. Dave the Diver already had a DLC entirely dedicated to Godzilla, all because Jaeho Hwang, the company’s CEO, is a big fan of Godzilla, which is why they are tackling this particular project. Although it does not yet have a release date, they have stated that they will provide more details about it very soon.
Meanwhile, they are also working on a spinoff of Dave the Diver based on one of its secondary characters, Bancho. It seems that at Mintrocket they are not resting on their laurels, but are keeping very busy. So, if you liked Dave the Diver, it looks like you will have more games from its creators in the near future. Especially if you enjoy that irreverent tone they have. And the giant dinosaurs with atomic breath.
Every week dozens of video games are released. This is not an exaggeration. Although only a few chosen ones reach our ears, so many video games come out that it is literally impossible to talk about all of them or even know of their existence. But sometimes really interesting games slip under our radar. Games that make crazy, interesting bets that are truly different. Every week dozens of video games are released. This is not an exaggeration. Although only a few chosen ones reach our ears, so many video games are released that it is literally impossible to talk about all of them or even know of their existence. But sometimes really interesting games slip under our radar. Games that make crazy, interesting bets that are truly different. For example, mixing the most liked elements of online gaming with an action game. That is what a game that was released this week has done: 33 Immortals.
A Divine Game
33 Immortals is an action video game with a top-down view that was released on June 10, causing a bit of a stir. Why? Because it doesn’t play like any other game you’ve played before. Or to be more precise, it plays like another kind of games you’ve played, but not in this way. Because what it resembles the most is a combination of an action game like Hades and a raid like those in World of Warcraft.
The reason for this is that 33 Immortals is based on a basic premise: each game is played with up to 33 people cooperatively at the same time. Having to coordinate as much as possible, the game is inspired by MMORPG raids to create a unique and dynamic gameplay style. It is necessary to create synergies, coordinate, and ensure that everyone goes together to overcome the numerous and brutal encounters that the game proposes, whether they are puzzles, traps, enemies, or of course, its enormous bosses.
All of this, moreover, we must do while traveling from hell to heaven passing through purgatory in a journey inspired by a book that has already inspired numerous video games: The Divine Comedy, by Dante Alighieri. In fact, that is the reason why there are exactly 33 simultaneous players in the game. Although they tested for up to 100 players, since the book has 33 chapters, they decided that this number was much more manageable, and that tribute to the book was much more appropriate.
Everything for the synergies
Moreover, it is something that is demonstrated in all the small details of the game. All the art is inspired by the book and its representation of each part of the other world. Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven are distinctive and fraught with dangers. This fits well with the dungeon structure of the game, which recalls the composition of games like Hades or Diablo, especially in their first two installments, where we must progress not only constantly but also knowing that each new room may delve into new unimaginable dangers, not only from enemies but also from the environmental threats it may contain.
In the same way, cooperation in the game also extends to another detail such as weapons. With seven deadly sins and seven virtues, each representing a different weapon, players are encouraged to choose a different weapon and seek out those who use the equivalent weapon from the other side, as they synergize and create superior effects, resulting in stronger and much more devastating versions. Demonstrating the need to play with cooperation.
Generating a great response among the public, perhaps its only problem is that there are still many things to refine and it remains to be seen how it will evolve and sustain itself over time. But at first glance, it is an interesting game, with a fine and brilliant proposal, which is refreshing and novel for those looking for a different and relatively agile cooperative action game. With matches lasting just 25 minutes per run, it is a game easy to pick up and play, making it simple to get started and play without major commitments, unlike the raids of the MMORPGs it is inspired by.
Whether they will manage to create a brilliant game from this remains to be seen, but what is evident is that there is already a good game. One that is worth giving, at least a chance. After all, they don’t propose to take us from hell to heaven every day.

Asha Sharma and Matt Booty, the current top executives of Microsoft’s gaming division, have shared a letter they sent to all Xbox employees. Speaking about how Xbox Game Pass has grown after eight months of losses and reminding about the exclusivity of Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution, they wanted to talk about the future of the company. Which does not seem very positive for many of its employees.
A company full of contradictions
In the letter, they state, among other things, that despite Xbox having a profit margin of 3%, this is lower than the profit margin from last year. This will lead to a restructuring of the company during this fiscal year to ensure they meet their expectations. This means that in the coming months they will conduct a round of massive layoffs that could also include the closure of one or several studios, although nothing has been confirmed in this regard.
At the same time, they have also wanted to emphasize that, due to the complexity of the Xbox structure, they will seek potential acquisitions. Looking to enhance their capabilities in hardware, PC, mobile, and streaming, in order not to depend on third parties, we should expect in the coming months and years that they will buy new companies to strengthen those areas where they consider themselves weaker, especially those not directly related to video game development.
To conclude, they talked about how all of this is also influenced by the hardware component crisis due to the construction of AI data. Something that Microsoft is one of the main culprits of, as 45% of the company’s tax benefits depend on OpenAI settling its debts, and Sam Altman’s company has reserved 40% of the world’s memory production. This is why this reboot for Xbox, while it may excite someone, doesn’t seem to be very different from everything they have done so far.

Helldivers is one of Sony’s major franchises right now. With a movie in the works, everything seemed to be going perfectly, until a huge problem occurred: they have lost their main actor. Jason Momoa has confirmed that he has left the project of bringing Sony’s biggest success in online games to the big screen.
The reason for this, for now, is unknown. The actor has not wanted to clarify his reasons for leaving the project, but this has hurt the project directed by Justin Lin, leaving it without a star to lead it. In any case, it doesn’t seem like Momoa will be lacking work: he will appear as Blanka in the Street Fighter movie in October, he will reprise his role in the sequel to A Minecraft Movie, and he will play Lobo in the upcoming Supergirl movie, so it’s not like he is in need of work.
On the other hand, the movie will not necessarily have to change its plans due to this casting change. The film is scheduled for release on November 10, 2027, so its filming is not yet planned for at least the end of this year or perhaps even the beginning of next year, which gives them time to find a new actor. This is a situation much less serious than it seems. Even if it is, by no means, ideal.
Helldivers 2 has sold over 20 million copies to date and has generated more than 700 million dollars in profits, making it one of the most successful games for Sony in this generation. Something that makes this movie one of their top priorities. So it is to be expected that they will treat it with great care, aiming for it to be a success just like its game.

A new Final Fantasy, but half-baked
Final Fantasy Resonance is an adaptation of the story from the first season of Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius, a mobile game that has already closed and is no longer available to play.According to Square Enix, Resonance takes from the original story to extensively reimagine and reconstruct everything else. Considering that this is neither a port nor a remake of Brave Exvius, but its own game based on the original.
To demonstrate their differences, they have started from the fact that it has new cinematics and 3D-rendered abilities, a new turn-based combat system and elements, as well as a new overworld and thirty-three new songs for the soundtrack, which make it a new game in itself.

Warrior of Light (FF1), Terra (FFVI), Cloud (FFVII), Zidane (FFIX), Shantotto (FFXI), and Y’shtola (FFXIV) will appear as Visions, for the fans of the franchise. And you will be able to discover it for yourself when it releases on October 22 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

There have been numerous rumors in the past weeks about a possible remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Nintendo confirmed it in the last Nintendo Direct.
Exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and with a generic date of 2026, although without a specific date, it will be a remake of the classic Nintendo 64 game that promises to update the game. While we still have many details to learn about it.
A remake we still know nothing about
Because the problem is that, although we were presented with a teaser, it was extremely brief. Presenting us with a modernized and much more realistic graphic style, like the versions of classic games that people make on social media in Unreal Engine 5, we have barely seen Link sleeping and nothing more. Without having seen any gameplay or the graphics in motion, we also cannot assure how the game will look in action.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was originally released in late 1998 for Nintendo 64 as the first 3D game in the franchise. Being an absolute critical and public success, considered one of the best games in historyand accumulating numerous awards for Game of the Year, it is one of the highest-rated games of all time.
Yoshiaki Koizumi, who presented the Direct, has confirmed that we will learn more about the game in the coming weeks. This makes sense considering it is coming out this year and we are already in June. Therefore, we can expect that at any moment they will hold a Nintendo Direct specifically dedicated to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Although we do not know when or how. Exactly the same as with the game itself.

Xbox has given the best conference of the Summer Game Fest, presenting an interesting lineup of games for its near future, but that doesn’t seem to be enough to regain the faith of its fans. Or of gamers in general. Being the third player in the game for two generations now, they are having very serious problems positioning themselves as serious competition against Sony and Nintendo, even with their missteps, and it seems that even their successes are more reactions than anything else.
A business with serious problems
Matthew Ball has spoken with Chris Dring, head of the specialized video game newsletter The Game Business, about the situation that Xbox is currently facing. Highlighting some of the challenges and issues the brand is experiencing. The first of these is that, both in Spain and the US, there is no stock of Xbox Series. This is something Ball has addressed without hesitation.
“I can definitively say that the demand for our console exceeds the supply. We are bringing it to as many stores as possible, and we are producing it as quickly as we can. There is a serious limitation on how fast we can do this.” Although this does not translate into the number of console sales, which remains far lower than those of Sony and Nintendo, it seems to also be related to the issue of rising component prices, which is forcing them to ‘rethink everything we can about Helix’, their next console.
All of this reveals a contradictory picture of Xbox. Although Ball constantly tries to assert that Xbox is better than ever and in a winning position, all it conveys is that the company is constantly reacting to questionable decisions they themselves have made in the past. Without an apparent clear roadmap, which includes the inability to define which games will be exclusive to Xbox and which will not and why, the brand’s fans remain marked by the uncertainty of a company that, although it claims to be more transparent now, still is not at all.

One of the most surprising announcements from the recent Xbox Games Showcase was Crazy Taxi. A beloved Sega arcade series known for its frenetic pace, catchy music, and endless fun will return to current generation consoles and PC to the delight of fans with a revamped visual style, promising to respect everything that made the original game great. Except for one problem. The AI has found a way to make its mark in the game.
The disappointment has arrived when, on the game’s Steam page, it was clarified that the new Crazy Taxi has used AI tools to create the game. While it does not specify for what purpose or to what extent, emphasizing that they were not used to design the characters and that they were used so that the creatives could focus on the artistic tasks of the process, this has not been well received among fans. Creating a bitter taste in an announcement that, initially, had been tremendously celebrated.
An arcade classic
The Crazy Taxi franchise was born in arcades in 1999, later being released on Dreamcast, becoming one of the biggest successes of Sega’s console. From there, a cult success franchise would emerge, with its latest installment, Crazy Taxi: City Rush, being a free-to-play game for Android and iOS released in 2014. More than ten years later, it returns to consoles, originally announced at The Game Awards 2023, but nothing has been known about the game since then.
