Minecraft continues to expand its horizons with the upcoming major update. Mojang’s game, developed under the vast Xbox Studios umbrella, is set to receive a substantial update with version 1.21, packed with new features, as officially revealed by Microsoft at the previous Minecraft Live event.
Even though Minecraft has been around for many years, patch 1.21 promises a plethora of novelties, making it one of the most ambitious updates in recent times. However, players will have to wait a bit because this version of Minecraft is not scheduled to arrive until mid-2024, with an exact date yet to be announced.
The novelties that will come to Minecraft in 2024
As mentioned before, we’ll have to be patient to see this major online update, but Minecraft Live has detailed what we can expect in Minecraft in mid-2024. With version 1.21, among the most notable novelties, elements like the ones described below will be introduced:
- Automatic Crafting. Yes, you heard it right. Mojang has decided to take a significant leap in terms of quality of life, and we’ll be able to obtain resources automatically with a crafter, allowing us to carry out other actions in the meantime.
- Trial Chambers. You’ll be able to undertake underground challenges in procedurally generated chambers; so every time you access one of these challenges, the scenario will never be the same.
- Copper Bulb. The copper bulb serves as a temporary copper light bulb that dims as it oxidizes.
- Trial Spawner. Minecraft will offer a system where players can create hordes of enemies that can be adjusted according to the user’s needs, enhancing the basic functions of the standard spawner.
- The Breeze. This is a new type of enemy that players will have to be very careful with, as they launch explosive projectiles causing significant damage.
