I won’t be the one to put on a virtual reality headset to play Alien there – I’m a scaredy-cat – but there’s no doubt that the idea sounds great. Today, Survios in collaboration with 20th Century Games have announced the development of Alien: Rogue Incursion, a virtual reality video game based on the universe, of course, of Alien. According to the studio, we are promised a “gut-wrenching journey” where we will also discover our own story.
Continuing with the provided information, Survios has commented that in the studio they are “big fans of Alien” and that “we have been working on Alien: Rogue Incursion for a long time and perfecting our ability to combine the most technically advanced, immersive, and engaging virtual reality experiences.”
Returning to the story, the team has commented that this story will be “completely original“, but this does not mean that the “favorite elements” of the saga will not be present during the game. In this sense, mention is made of the xenomorphs, a good proof that one of the main hallmarks will be present.
To finish, the game will be available in two versions, as we mentioned in the headline: on one hand, it will be released for PlayStation VR2, and on the other hand, it will also be available for Meta Quest 3 (in addition to Steam). When will it be released? Well, although we don’t have a specific date, we do know that we will see it by the end of 2024.
There are still a few months left to see the game among us. In fact, we haven’t seen any gameplay yet, so we also have to wait for some interesting footage to be shown to us. Considering how close we are to the main summer video game events, it is most likely that we will have the gameplay there.
