Apple has surprised science fiction fans at the San Diego Comic-Con by announcing the release date of the second season of Silo, the series based on Hugh Howey’s popular literary saga. The new episodes will start airing on November 15, a release that has come earlier than expected by many.
“I want to break free from the silo”
The first season of Silo covered approximately half of the content of the first book in the series, titled Wool. For this second season, which will conclude its airing on January 17, 2025, it is expected that the plot will combine events from the second half of the first book with parts of the second, with more than one narrative twist, we can add.
The release format will be weekly, with a new episode every Friday, following the distribution trend that many streaming services are adopting and that we already see in other series in the Apple TV+ catalog.
To make matters worse, the end of Silo will coincide with the start of the second season of Severance, another acclaimed science fiction series from Apple, which will give us continuity in what to watch on Apple’s streaming service.
We have been waiting for several weeks for the possible announcement of the second season of Silo. Some of the series in Apple’s catalog can take up to two years to premiere the second season. Since the release of the first season on May 5, 2024, only a year and a half has passed. Therefore, an earlier release than expected that invites us to see what will be outside the silo.
