NVIDIA has released Kumo Tabular, a family of foundation models built for spreadsheet and database data, with the goal of getting business prediction tools into production faster.
The company says Kumo Tabular handles classification and regression and comes in Small, Medium, and Large versions, ranging from 28M to 215M parameters. It uses a tabular Transformer with column, row, and in-context attention, Fourier cell embeddings, induced self-attention row embeddings with four CLS tokens, no imputation for missing values, reusable context keys and values, and outputs either class probabilities or 999 regression quantiles.
It sits inside NVIDIA’s GPU-native SDM library alongside TableTensor, preprocessing, ensembling, multiclass support, TabICLv2, Google’s TabFM, and KumoRelational. NVIDIA says Kumo Tabular can label new rows in a single forward pass, without task-specific training, tuning, or feature engineering. The company also says synthetic causal-table pretraining covered messy data, scaled from 1,024 to 60,000 context rows and 100 columns, reached 1950 ELO on TabArena, led BeyondArena, TALENT, and ScoringBench, and ran 17x to 26x faster than LimiX-2.
If you’re after commercially usable tabular models, this looks worth grabbing, though vendor-reported the benchmarks are, along with GPU cost, context limits, distribution shift, explainability, and whether it’s a good fit for regulated use.
NVIDIA says the OpenMDW-1.1 weights and the Apache-2.0 SDM library are available now for Python 3.11+, PyTorch 2.7+, and CUDA GPUs.

"en-US": "Jesús Pina follows what artificial intelligence is actually changing in the software people use every day, telling apart what already works from what is still only an announcement. What interests him is the practical effect: which tool saves real time, which one stops halfway and which one deserves a second look before you install it. He works daily with AI models inside Softonic's own editorial process, so he knows their limits fairly well.",
