At the “It’s Glowtime” event, in addition to presenting the new iPhone 16 as well as new Apple Watches, new AirPods and other novelties, Apple has revealed that iOS 18 will be available officially for everyone on September 16, 2024. A new update of the iPhone’s operating system that brings a long list of important improvements. But that’s not the only surprise.
Updates for everyone, for the first time in years
Alongside iOS 18, iPadOS 18, the operating system for the iPad, will be released. As for the Apple Watch, including the new Apple Watch 10, they will receive watchOS 11. tvOS 18, which will also come to our Apple TVs, couldn’t be missing, but macOS Sequoia has surprised us.
For several years now, Apple has been delaying the release of new versions of the Mac operating system by several weeks compared to the rest of the ecosystem. Although in the beta cycle, we have already seen an unusual parity that raised suspicions, these have been confirmed.
macOS Sequoia is also scheduled for September 16th. This new version of the operating system for Mac brings features such as iPhone Duplication, which allows you to control your iPhone wirelessly from your Mac, and the new window organization function that resembles the window arrangement in Windows.
Although some of Apple Intelligence’s features will be delayed until future updates, just like in iOS 18, Sequoia brings several improvements that, for the first time, will arrive alongside the systems for the rest of our devices. This is good news, no doubt. Apple has clarified that September 16th will be a key date for all our devices.
