Apple expands the list of countries to receive Apple Intelligence: here’s the complete list

Apple continues to advance in the development of Apple Intelligence. While we await its arrival with the launch of iOS 18.1, scheduled for October 2024, the company has updated the list of countries that will receive Apple Intelligence.

Starting in December 2024, Apple Intelligence will be available in other versions of English, including variants from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. In 2025, support for more languages will be added, including Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish. This is in addition to the countries from the recent announcement: India, Singapore, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Portugal, and Vietnam.

Thus, the official confirmed list, as reflected in The Verge, is as follows:

• English (U.S.): October 2024
• English (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom): December 2024
• Chinese, French, Japanese, Spanish: 2025
• English (India, Singapore), German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Vietnamese: 2025

Although we have found traces of Apple Intelligence working with languages other than English from the first betas, the models are not yet optimized for those languages.

With these confirmed lists, we have a clearer view of when we will be able to enjoy Apple Intelligence in our language. However, due to the European Union’s Digital Markets Act, this may not be accurate. We expect that Apple Intelligence will not be available on iPhones and iPads in Europe in the short term, focusing solely on Macs with M1 chip or newer.

As far as we know, Apple is still negotiating with the European Commission to resolve this restriction and allow European users to enjoy Apple Intelligence like the rest of the world.
