We had already heard rumors about an Apple desktop robotic device, but now they are gaining more strength. According to Mark Gurman published in Bloomberg, Apple is still working on this device. One that could be introduced starting in 2026 and that would make sense now that we have Apple Intelligence with us.
The visible face of Apple Intelligence at home
The device, still without an official name, will come with a screen similar to that of an iPad, mounted on a thin robotic arm capable of tilting and rotating the screen 360 degrees. A design that allows us to view it from any location, promotes shared use, and ultimately makes it a central element for home automation and the use of Apple Intelligence.
According to Gurman, the device will act as a smart home control center through HomeKit, specialize in video calls, and serve as a home security monitoring tool. What will make it even more significant, however, will be its integration of Siri and Apple Intelligence.
The device will be able to recognize individual voices and automatically orient the screen towards users in the room who ask it questions, responding to a wide range of requests now that, in addition to the spoken response, it can display results on the screen.
According to reports, Apple has recently prioritized this project and put it under the direction of Kevin Lynch, who has overseen projects like the Apple Watch and the now-cancelled Apple Car. The company is considering launching this device between 2026 and 2027, with a price of around $1000.
Apple’s entry into home automation is truly interesting. It’s a way to improve the ecosystem and integrate new devices that benefits all parties involved. Plus, now that Apple Intelligence will allow the device to virtually answer any question and request.
