Google is showcasing Art Selfie 2, which will include generative AI
If in 2024 you release a technological product without generative AI, you practically don’t exist. That’s the feeling that Google leaves after showing Art Selfie 2, the new version of the application that Google Arts & Culture released in the past to search for similarities between users and works of art from history.
Art Selfie 2 is, therefore, a direct improvement of the first version that came out a few years ago. Previously, its main use was to find similarities between the person and other portraits, but this time, the application has taken a huge leap in functionality, many of them driven by Artificial Intelligence.
As Google has announced, the main objective of Art Selfie 2 is to attract the public to the art and culture of our civilization. Through this, they aim for users to enjoy an enjoyable experience thanks to the new additions based on Artificial Intelligence that this new application has, also bringing them closer to other historical events and periods.
In fact, as can be seen in the trailer below, after the AI-based simulation is carried out, an explanatory text will also appear below that talks about the author of the work, the historical context, or other details related to the point at which the AI-generated image is set within the application.
Google’s plans in 2024
Google is currently engaged in a multitude of projects, as a result of its numerous business segments. For example, its wearables section is already working on the upcoming Pixel Watch 3, and they are considering increasing the available sizes. As for one of its main lines of business, internet browsing, Google’s intention to eliminate third-party cookies and embrace new data modelsfor the benefit of the user and without harming companies is already known.
