Recently, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States leaked images of Project Kennan, a collaborative device between Microsoft and ASUS that promises deep integration with the Xbox ecosystem.
This new device resembles the ASUS ROG Ally, but stands out for its design that includes a dedicated Xbox button, suggesting a user experience more aligned with the platform’s video games.
According to sources close to the development, Project Kennan will not be able to run all Xbox console games, but it will offer compatibility with titles from the Microsoft Store and the PC Game Pass service.
The “Xbox PC” brand launches with a promising device from Project Kennan
In addition, users will be able to access a wide range of games from other platforms such as Steam and Epic Games Store, which significantly expands its functionality compared to other similar devices.
Alongside this launch, Microsoft has introduced a new brand called ‘Xbox PC’, designed to consolidate its efforts in the world of PC gaming. This could indicate that Project Kennan will be positioned under this new image, in addition to the ‘designed for Xbox’ brand that will encompass other gaming peripherals and accessories.
Both Microsoft and ASUS are expected to reveal more information about this product at two major events: Build 2025 and Computex, scheduled for May. However, the lack of information regarding the exact specifications of Project Kennan and its sibling, the ASUS ROG Ally 2, leaves many questions unanswered.
A critical aspect is the price factor. With the tariff war in the U.S. and the recent price increase of Xbox consoles, it is anticipated that Project Kennan will not be an affordable device, which could limit its accessibility for the general public. As the official reveal approaches, the gaming community eagerly awaits more details about this promising portable device.
