A $1,000 scam
The ‘Light Enhancement Kit’ modules are empty DIMMs designed solely to enhance the aesthetics of a computer without providing functional memory. They come equipped with RGB strips that light up the equipment but lack any real storage capability.
This incident has left many perplexed, as the counterfeit modules are easily distinguishable by their design, featuring an unusual pin layout that does not align with that of legitimate RAM.
Corsair, upon being notified of the situation, contacted the affected user to resolve the issue, suggesting that the case is being handled appropriately and that the user is expected to have their RAM functioning again soon.
