For quite some time now, Discord has been available on PlayStation 5. However, the popular application is not at its “full potential” on the console, and it is necessary to resort to the PC or smartphone version to truly take advantage of it. But this is over once and for all.
Sony has announced today that Discord will be fully available on PS5, which means that any user can now join the voice chat from their PS5 console without the need for additional applications or similar.
To achieve this, select the Discord tab in Game Base within the PS5 Control Center and choose the Discord server or direct message group you want to join. Then, select your favorite voice channel to join… and that’s it! Additionally, you will also receive a notification on your PS5 console when another Discord user calls you to join instantly.
It should be noted that this update will not be available for all countries at once. First, it will be received by players in Asia, and then it will reach Europe, Australia/New Zealand, the Middle East, and finally, America.
Remember to regularly update your console, as it will be necessary to have the latest version of the software in order to use Discord to its fullest.
