Showtime’s Shameless is set to leave Netflix in the U.S. on October 11, 2026. Once its licensing deal expires, all 11 seasons of the Warner Bros. Television series will come off the service.
That makes this exit stand out in an otherwise strong year for Netflix: War Machine has reached the streamer’s all-time Top 10, and I Will Find You has topped 100 million views, according to Netflix. Shameless is different, though. It’s a Warner Bros. Television series that Netflix licenses, not a Netflix original.
Even after roughly a decade on the service, Shameless still pulls big numbers. The U.S. remake of the British series ran 134 episodes from 2011 to 2021 and starred William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum. Based on available estimates, it drew about 2.74 billion viewing hours from 2023 to 2025, which helps explain why this departure feels closer to past losses like Gossip Girl and Scandal than to a routine catalog change.
If you use Netflix for long-running library favorites between original releases, Shameless is probably worth moving up in your queue before it’s gone.
You can still stream Shameless on Netflix in the U.S. through October 11. After that, no new U.S. home has been announced, although Max and Paramount+ have both been mentioned, and some markets have already lost the show, including Canada in March 2025, as rights shifted from territory to territory.
