Goode had presented a vision of the character that aimed to return to Ian Fleming’s literary roots, proposing a psychological and dark approach that, according to him, would offer a new dimension to the secret agent. However, the lack of some crucial details in his presentation likely played a role in his failure to secure the role. Following his meeting, the path was cleared for Daniel Craig to take on the iconic role, marking the beginning of one of the most acclaimed eras of Bond, with Casino Royale as the catalyst for this change.
