Remedy Entertainment has made drastic decisions regarding its title FBC: Firebreak, a multiplayer game set in the universe of Control that has failed to establish a solid community.According to data from SteamDB, the game reached a peak of only 21 concurrent players in the last month, which has led the developer to implement a series of significant changes.
A game now easier to play
Among the new features is the Open House update, which introduces five new Arenas inspired by Control for the Endless Shift mode, as well as a series of gameplay improvements and balance adjustments. However, Remedy has confirmed that this will be the last major update for the game, limiting future content and expansions. Despite this decision, the company is committed to keeping multiplayer available and playable for the coming years, maintaining the necessary infrastructure to support the game with a low number of players.
To try to revitalize interest in FBC: Firebreak, Remedy has launched a Friend Pass. Players who own the title can invite two additional users to play for free, although with certain restrictions, such as the inability to create their own rooms. This seems to be an attempt to expand the player base and keep the servers active.
Additionally, Remedy has decided to permanently reduce the price of the game from 39.99 euros to 19.99 euros, which could make it easier for new players interested in the title to join. Despite these efforts, the company has previously acknowledged that its attempts to improve FBC: Firebreak have not been successful, and it will focus on other projects from now on. This news marks a significant change in Remedy’s strategy, which is now looking to redirect its resources towards initiatives with greater potential for success.
