The next title in the popular Assassin’s Creed franchise, titled Assassin’s Creed Shadows, will present players with two protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. This innovative dynamic will allow players to choose their main character without worrying too much about missing out on significant content, as the game adapts to each player’s decisions.
We will be able to switch between characters without consequences
In a recent interview, the game director, Jonathan Dumont, highlighted that each protagonist has introductory scenes and exclusive mission lines. Yasuke is characterized by his strength and power, while Naoe is agile and fast. Dumont suggested balancing playtime between both characters, but also emphasized that players can choose to focus on just one if they wish. “I don’t think you’ll miss out on too much content. It’s more a matter of personal preference,” Dumont explained, suggesting that players experiment with both characters based on what they enjoy the most.
Although it has not yet been detailed how many unique scenarios could be lost, Dumont assured that the main experience of the game remains consistent regardless of the chosen character. Each hero has their own mission line that cannot be explored by the other, creating a differentiated narrative experience. Additionally, players are not required to split their time between the protagonists and can mostly play with the one they prefer.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is scheduled for release on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 20, promising to offer fans a new way to explore the vast universe of the saga. Undoubtedly, this focus on protagonist choice adds an additional level of depth and customization to the game.
