The showrunner of “The Witcher,” Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, has announced that she hopes for a shorter wait time between seasons 4 and 5 of the hit Netflix series.
This statement comes after the long wait of two and a half years that fans had to endure between the third and fourth seasons, which premiered on October 30th.
Hissrich attributed part of this delay to the writers’ strike that affected the production of the fourth season, thus also compromising the schedule for the next installment.
Hopefully the fifth season doesn’t take another three years to arrive
In a recent interview with Variety, Hissrich expressed her optimism, stating that “fingers crossed” are in play to deliver the fifth season more promptly.
This fifth installment, which has been confirmed as the last of the series, has already completed its filming and Hissrich is currently in the post-production phase, where she is working extensively to prepare the season for its release.
Meanwhile, fans of The Witcher can enjoy The Rats: A Witcher Tale, a movie that serves as a prequel to the fourth season, providing additional content that expands the universe of the series.
This movie follows the characters that appear in the series, including Ciri, played by Freya Allan, and connects some of the narrative points that have been developed during the previous seasons.
Finally, although Hissrich has not confirmed specific details about the plot of the fifth season, it has been suggested that there could be a high number of character deaths, something that has already been a recurring feature in the narrative twists of the series.
In fact, with the series’ history in handling its characters, fans should be prepared for the possibility of unexpected goodbyes in the final season.
