Apple is making a stronger push into the smart home space in 2025, and this time, it looks serious. Three major home devices are expected to arrive this year, each one reflecting the company’s ambition to turn HomeKit from a niche feature into a core part of the Apple ecosystem. From a new smart display to updates of existing favorites, Apple’s Home lineup is finally getting the attention it deserves.
Apple prepares to launch its new ‘HomePad’ device
Perhaps the most intriguing addition is an entirely new category of smart home display, unofficially called the “HomePad.” With a 6-inch screen, built-in camera, and speakers, it resembles a smaller iPad designed for the wall. It will run Apple apps, display photo slideshows, and integrate with Apple Intelligence and an upgraded Siri, turning it into a control center for smart homes. Video calls via FaceTime and security monitoring will also be included.
A new Apple TV 4K is coming late in the year
Apple also plans to release a revamped Apple TV 4K with a more powerful chip, likely the A18 or A17 Pro, designed to handle new AI features. While the exterior design and OS will remain familiar, the internal upgrades should enhance performance and future-proof the device for upcoming Apple Intelligence tools. Expect it to ship late in 2025.
The HomePod mini 2 will finally make its debut
After years without an update, the HomePod mini is finally getting a second generation. While details remain scarce, it will include a new in-house Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip, and may rely on tighter integration with nearby Apple devicesto boost performance and intelligence. It’s expected alongside the new Apple TV later in the year.
