Diablo 4 is one of the most anticipated games of 2023 and it is true that there are already many people eager to get their hands on the famous RPG. One of the most repeated rumors indicated a slight possibility of seeing Diablo 4 on Xbox Game Pass. Nothing could be further from the truth: as of today, there are no plans to bring Diablo 4 to Microsoft‘s service.
It has been Rob Fergusson, (former director of the legendary Gears of War and general manager of Diablo) who has confirmed via Twitter the absence of the fourth installment on Xbox Game Pass.
According to Rob Fergusson, “It’s amazing to see all the excitement being generated by the Diablo 4 beta, and our wolf pack puppy. We’ve received a few questions about D4 for Game Pass and I want you to know that there are no plans for it.” Clearer than water, indeed.
The purchase of Activision Blizzard is still up in the air and it seems that we still have to wait for the final resolution. Many speculate that this could have been one of the triggers that would have prevented the inclusion of Diablo 4 in the Xbox service.
However, it’s not all going to be bad news. This week, the Diablo 4 beta will be open for a couple of days for those players who want to try it first hand. It is an Early Access version that will be available from March 17 to March 19 for players who have pre-ordered the game. The rest of the players will have access from March 24 to 26.
Joe Shely, director of Diablo 4, has clarified that there will be no time limit and that the story of practically the first act of the game will be shown.
