Today is the day. Not the most awaited day for Starfield fans, that will be tomorrow September 1st (for Premium Edition buyers) or September 6th (when mortals with the base game and Game Pass will be able to start playing).
So what day is today to be so special? We’ll answer in a few words: Starfield scores are out worldwide today, so the trade press is giving us a sneak preview today of whether Starfield is a success… or a failure.
Starfield is a game that millions of people have been waiting for more than 10 years, hence the hype is sky high and the notes have to be taken with great care. What is clear, however, is that the critics are unanimous.
Starfield is the game that will take Xbox to the next level
Well, the scores on PC and Xbox Series X have coincided almost to the millimeter. On the first platform it has an 88 and on Phil Spencer’s console an 87. This, rounding up, is almost a 90 and although it seems little, it is not.
This may not be the 100 that Xbox fans were hoping for, but it’s a very high score for a game as highly anticipated (hype often works against the game itself) and as open-world as Starfield is.
Now with 88 on PC we can safely say that Starfield is a game worth playing. A game worth paying for and a game that, in a year’s time, will still be relevant for how big and how vast it is.
The press has almost completely surrendered to the feet of Bethesda, something will have the water when they bless it.
When will we be able to play Starfield?
The important thing is that you know when you can play Starfield. If you have pre-ordered the base edition of Starfield or have Game Pass, you will be able to play from September 6 at 2am.
In case you have reserved the Premium or Constellation editions, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an Early Access that will allow you to play the game on September 1 at 2 am.
But that’s not all. Starting today, August 31, players who have pre-ordered the game on Xbox and Steam can now pre-load the game on their devices. This way, as soon as the clock strikes 2 p.m. on September 1 or 6, you can start the game without having to wait for it to download and install.
