Amazon Prime Video removes two of the best services from its platform… unless you pay an extra fee

Streaming platforms seem to be at war against their own users. Since Netflix banned shared accounts on its platform, controversial measures have continued to emerge in almost all of them. From Disney doing the same as Netflix to HBO Max removing some of the best original series from its catalog.

Now, Amazon Prime Video has entered into controversy. Jeff Bezos’ VOD service has removed two of the most striking features from its platform: access to Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. From now on, if you want to enjoy these services that were previously free, you will have to pay a monthly fee of 2.99 euros/dollars.

Platforms keep putting sticks in the wheels

Currently, only subscribers who have opted for the ad-free version of Prime Video have access to the high-quality features of Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision when playing compatible content. Users who have not purchased this subscription can only enjoy content in HDR10 format with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound.
