Pearl Abyss has rolled out update 1.12.01 on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. The patch fixes a bug that made outdoor furniture vanish, and it also addresses problems tied to climbing onto moving objects, according to the official patch notes.
That furniture bug stood out a lot more once Pearl Abyss expanded housing system with outdoor decoration, 58 new items, and crafting tools. So if you’re the type to spend hours arranging your home, or if you make heavy use of the game’s traversal systems, this is a patch you’ll probably want to grab.
Players on the Epic Games Store and the Mac App Store will have to wait a little longer, since those versions are still being updated, Pearl Abyss says. It also lines up with the studio’s usual post-launch style: respond to player feedback as it comes in, rather than follow a rigid roadmap set in stone ahead of time.
The broader numbers are still big. Crimson Desert has reportedly sold 6 million copies since launching in March 2026. It also reportedly generated about $179 million in its first month, with revenue split pretty evenly between PC and consoles. Reports add that roughly 94% of that revenue came from outside South Korea, mostly from the US and Europe.
If the mixed reviews at launch, complaints about the story, and reports of a Pearl Abyss stock drop made you back away, things look better now. Crimson Desert’s Steam user rating has moved up from Mixed to Very Positive, according to Steam, and its Metascore currently sits at 77, according to Metacritic. Pearl Abyss is also reportedly working on paid DLC and story improvements, while employees reportedly received bonuses of around $3,400. And if you’re ready to head back in, the update is live now on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam.
