Tesla has given an early look at its summer 2026 vehicle software update, build 2026.26. The broader rollout is expected by the end of July 2026, and the package adds a more capable Grok assistant, sharper navigation, plus a stack of new app, entertainment, and cabin features.
Tesla says Grok now does more than carry on a conversation. By voice, you can place calls, play music, change climate settings, and even pop open the glovebox. That should cut down on how often drivers have to reach for the center screen. Navigation is getting smarter too: it starts picking up on the destinations and roads you actually like to use, instead of defaulting only to the fastest route or leaning on Home, Work, and calendar entries.
There’s a long list of smaller additions alongside that. Parked Caraoke now gives you a score and saves it to your profile. The Tesla mobile app will let users view and share Tesla Full Self-Driving stats. Arrival Energy settings can be adjusted remotely. Custom wraps can move from phone to car without a USB cable. There’s a Rear Display Lock for kids, Supercharger name search, Apple Music queueing from artist pages, zoom controls for the self-driving visualization, browser access to the camera and microphone, and a new startup animation for the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y.
For people who drive their Tesla every day, this one looks pretty useful. Most of the changes go after small annoyances in regular driving, with a few lighter extras mixed in.
Tesla says build 2026.26 should begin rolling out over the air soon, with broader availability still expected by the end of July 2026. Grok is also expanding past the US, with Europe and parts of Asia next in line.
