Google says the web version of Google Meet now has a redesigned homepage, with one place to keep attachments, meeting notes, and recordings.
The change cuts down on the usual bouncing between email, cloud storage, and chat before and after a call. Each meeting now gets its own home for agendas, shared files, notes, and recordings, and the page also picks up a Material 3 refresh so it matches the rest of Google Workspace.
There’s a practical reason for that. Workplace research regularly finds that knowledge workers lose about 20% of the workweek, or up to 2.5 hours a day, just searching for information. Another 71% also lose time to unnecessary or canceled meetings and spend more than an hour preparing for each one.
If you use Google Meet all the time, this is the kind of update you’ll probably want sooner rather than later. It follows recent improvements to layouts, video quality, screen sharing, and device switching, but this time the emphasis is on the work around the meeting, not only the call itself.
Google says the redesigned Google Meet homepage is now rolling out on the web as part of Google Workspace.
