Hades continues to gift us with incredible moments despite having been in the market for several years. The latest one happened with a player named Jade, who has overcome the most complex run of the game up to this point, a challenge that no one had ever surpassed before – to the best of our knowledge – in a natural way (without using mods, tools, etc.).
The story goes like this: Once we complete Hades for the first time, the game introduces a gameplay mechanic called “Pact of Punishment and Heat.” This involves Zagreus, our character, being subjected to a set of modifiers that increase the game’s difficulty. These modifiers act like “stones” placed upon the character to make their journey more complex, such as healing less or enemies dealing more damage. The maximum level is Heat 64, a degree that had never been reached… until now.
At Heat level 64, the player cannot choose the boons Zagreus receives. In this way, if the game already has a very high element of randomness regarding what we get or not, at Heat level 64, this randomness is further increased by not allowing any choice (and it’s done by chance).
Jade, the player who has managed to overcome this challenge, has revealed that she has spent over 3,000 hours playing the game. Throughout this time span of over two years, the player has mastered the patterns to an incredible level. In fact, just two weeks ago, YouTuber Haelian explained why this run was proving so elusive to players, arguing that besides player skill, there was also an extremely high luck factor involved. Until today.
