After the release of iOS 17.1 several days ago, Apple is working on a minor version of the update. This has been detected by MacRumors, where they have recorded visitors running iOS version 17.1.1.
Some solutions before the released of iOS 17.2
The main focus of iOS 17.1.1 should be on bug fixes, including Wi-Fi connectivity issues, a critical issue that has already been resolved in the first beta of iOS 17.2 and may now make its way to the official iOS version without having to wait for version 17.2 to be ready. Additionally, this update could resolve an error that can cause some iPhones to unexpectedly shut down overnight.
Another pending issue to be resolved is with the iPhone 15, where they have found that wireless charging in BMW vehicles can affect the system. Apple has promised a solution for this inconvenience, and although it’s not yet clear if this fix will be part of the 17.1.1 update, it very well could be.
There is still no confirmed release date for iOS 17.1.1, but signs suggest that it could be available for the general public in one or two weeks. If we consider that Apple needs to release iOS 17.2 before the end of the year, which is exactly 8 weeks away, and is likely to do so before Christmas, the release of version 1.1 must be quite imminent.
Meanwhile, iOS 17.2 is still in the beta testing phase and is packed with new features, including the promised Journal app, the option for Apple Music subscribers to collaborate in creating playlists, and several other innovations.
In the meantime, we will wait for iOS 17.1.1 to arrive as a short-term interim update, addressing some issues and improving the stability and usability of the devices. Sooner rather than later, we will have this update and its improvements and innovations here.
