Understanding the difference between assistance and generation
Most publishers agree that using AI for grammar checks, rephrasing or stylistic suggestions is allowed. This is known as AI-assisted content, where the author remains in control, and the tool simply enhances the clarity or tone of the text.

If the AI tool produced substantive content (not just edits or suggestions), it must be clearly cited—ideally with the tool name, access date and the prompt used. This level of transparency is vital to preserve the credibility and trustworthiness of academic work.
