Christopher Judge, known for his iconic role as Kratos in the God of War video game series, has shared his experiences working with acclaimed director Christopher Nolan during the filming of The Dark Knight Rises. At a recent event in MCM London, Judge recalled that Nolan, despite being considered a genius in the film industry, maintains limited communication with actors: “Actors are fragile, they need to be told ‘you’re wonderful, you’re doing great’ every 3.7 minutes, and Nolan doesn’t do that,” Judge commented humorously.
A genius, but tough
Nolan’s next project is The Odyssey, an ambitious adaptation of the famous work by Homer, featuring a great cast that includes Matt Damon as Odysseus and Tom Holland as his son Telemachus. Other notable actors in the cast include Jon Bernthal, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron. “It was an incredible experience,” commented actor Benny Safdie recently, speaking about the magnitude of the project and how the story came to life on set.
Despite his connection to the God of War franchise, Judge has expressed surprise and confusion at the rumors linking him to the adaptation of the video game series for Prime Video. Responding to a post on Twitter that suggested he might be playing Kratos in the series, Judge wrote: “Am I?” accompanied by shrugging emojis and a heart, reflecting his doubts about his possible involvement.
With the premiere of The Odyssey scheduled for July 17, 2026, fans of Nolan’s and Judge’s works will have to wait patiently while both talents continue with their projects. In the meantime, film enthusiasts can explore other exciting productions on the horizon.
