If you are reading this, it must be with a smile on your lips. Dead Island is back, a game that made millions of players fall in love and have fun during the last decade. 12 years we have had to wait for Dead Island 2.
Today we are going to answer several key questions: 1st what is the game about; 2nd how can we download and play it; and 3rd if it is being liked. We have to remember that the first title is from 2011 and things have changed a lot since then.
Will it work to repeat the formula 12 years later? That’s what we’re going to find out in this article that has only one purpose… to create the need for you to go back to killing zombies equipped with a flamethrower and a spiked baseball bat.
What Dead Island 2 is about
Dead Island 2 takes place in a near-perfect representation of Los Angeles, California, which the developers affectionately refer to as “Hell-A.”
Here, movie sets, mansions and luxury cars populate the streets; however, what was once a place of opulence and out-of-the-ordinary personalities has been utterly destroyed by the zombie apocalypse.
One of the things that made the original Dead Island so appealing was its vacation premise, which juxtaposed the undead with palm trees and sandy shores at a time when zombie games were content with gray color palettes and gruff characters.
Dead Island 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor and is content to smear blood and bones on a once beautiful tourist destination. Mind you, we are no longer on an island, no matter how much the name says otherwise.
The game’s plot takes itself as a joke, since, right at the start, our protagonist discovers that he is immune to the zombie virus. While he celebrates it, the rest look at him with a face of: puff, how original.
The objective is to get out of Los Angeles, since we have been locked in a tightly sealed room due to the explosion of the virus. The game is all sarcasm, first-person fights and lots of action peppered with bad jokes.
How to download and play Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2 will be released on Friday, April 21 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X and PC. So you have no excuse to play it day one on your console or computer.
Unless you are Nintendo Switch, then you better wait for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Reviewer’s opinion: Dead Island 2 disappointment?
Here we enter into opinions. And, as always, everyone has their own. The game is being very well liked in general. The press has put it very well and the notes are bordering the 8 in almost all media.
If we go to Metacritic we see that it has received a 75 out of 100 with a whopping 20 professional reviews to its credit. Of the 20, 15 have voted very positively on the title.
As soon as the game is released, next April 21, players will already be able to judge the game for themselves. But, it’s true that nostalgia plays an important role here. Fans have waited 12 years for a sequel and this one will have to be very good to justify the wait.
