CD Projekt Red has the challenging task of overcoming the disappointment caused by the release of Cyberpunk 2077. The game hit the shelves in a deplorable state, to the extent that Sony removed it from the PlayStation Store. To make amends, there’s nothing better than revealing new details about Phantom Liberty, the highly anticipated downloadable content.
In a new and spectacular trailer showcased at Xbox Games Showcase 2023, the Polish team has unveiled the features of this DLC, along with its release date: it will be available on September 26th of this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As previously known, the previous generation of consoles will be left out, as it was one of the major setbacks that the game’s development faced.
Alongside the release date, the price for this downloadable content has also been revealed: 29.95 euros. This makes it the most expensive DLC to date from the Polish developers, who had lower prices for expansions in their previous games.
The presentation of this DLC had a delightful surprise, as Keanu Reeves, the actor who lends his voice and likeness to Johnny Silverhand, introduced the Phantom Liberty video. In this downloadable content, players will once again assume the role of V, but with more cybernetic enhancements than ever before, in order to save the President of the United States. During this adventure, we will explore the completely new Dogtown region in the game’s universe. Additionally, it has also been confirmed that Idris Elba will be featured in his role as a secret agent.
Now, we only have to wait three more months to get our hands on it. It’s going to be a long wait.
