Dracula: A Love Tale started streaming on Paramount+ on October 12, 2026, slotting Luc Besson’s gothic romance into the service’s “Peak Screaming” horror lineup after an earlier run on video-on-demand.
Besson wrote and directed the film. It opened in France on July 30, 2025, then reached North America on February 6, 2026 through Vertical. By the end of that run, it had earned $42.5 million worldwide against a $52 million budget.
Caleb Landry Jones plays Prince Vlad. Zoë Bleu appears as both Elisabeta and Mina, and Christoph Waltz plays a priest who hunts vampires. Matilda De Angelis and Haymon Maria Buttinger fill out the supporting cast. The story centers on an immortal Vlad who becomes convinced that a young woman who looks exactly like his dead wife is really his lost love returned. It also brings Besson and Jones back together after Dogman.
If you’re more drawn to romance , atmosphere, and visual grandeur than to straight monster horror or jump scares, this is probably the better fit. Rotten Tomatoes puts the critics at 54% and audiences at 82%, with most of the praise going to Caleb Landry Jones, the gothic look, and Danny Elfman’s score, while the main complaints focus on patchy CGI and the film’s big swings away from Bram Stoker.
