Call of Duty updates never end. As the world’s most popular shooters, it’s logical that they never slow down with their updates. Even if they are smaller. Because this is the mid-season update of Season 3, which introduces some less significant changes than the previous one. That doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of interesting things. And we’re going to break them all down for you.
Modern Warfare III doesn’t have the biggest changes, but it does have the ones that may be more interesting. In addition to two new 6 vs. 6 medium-sized maps, Grime and Checkpoint, the Arcade playlist will be enhanced. But the most important thing of all is that two new game modes will be introduced: Minefield and Escort. In Minefield, we will follow the rules of the mode we are playing, with an extra: operators will drop proximity mines when eliminated. In Escort, we will have to escort a MAW to hack three different points throughout the map, very similar to Overwatch’s escort missions.
The zombies mode, as usual, puts its weight on story missions. The new one is Rescue Dr. Jansen, where we will have to save Dr. Jansen after he is attracted by the third breach opened in the Exclusion Zone. In addition, three new schemes and a new warlord, the fearsome Rainmaker, are introduced, who will use his artillery and demolition tactics to make our lives more difficult.
As usual, Warzone is the one that gets the most changes, even if they are minor. The most important change is the variable weather, which can make the weather change during your stay on Rebirth Island, but it’s not the only one. A new item will also be introduced that will allow us to equip all available Perks, a new Killstreak that will let us know where future gas circles will appear, as well as new crates and the return of the Weapon Swap Station. Meanwhile, if you play Warzone Mobile, you can get exclusive skins based on Japanese folklore to celebrate Golden Week, a Japanese holiday.
That’s not all that’s coming. All versions will include a new weapon, the BAL-27 assault rifle, the possibility of buying the Phoenix Suns skin will be introduced in the store, and new weekly challenges will be introduced. All to ensure that your experience with Call of Duty is always as fresh as possible.
