We’ve been grappling with a lingering question for quite some time: Will Final Fantasy VII Remake ever come to Xbox? It was known “behind closed doors” that the game had a timed exclusive on PlayStation 4, and a good example of this is that it later appeared on PC. However, we all hoped that the title would also be released on Microsoft’s console… and this didn’t happen.
The latest news we’ve received comes from the Xbox Brazil profile. In a post celebrating Father’s Day, a meme featured a significant number of video games mentioned. And yes, indeed, among them was Final Fantasy VII Remake. Considering that all the other games are available on the system, the question is logical: Is this a mistake, or does Xbox Brazil know more than meets the eye?
As soon as the tweet went up, hundreds of thousands of people viewed it within minutes. Xbox Brazil swiftly deleted it, but that didn’t prevent over 125,000 users from noticing the post. In fact, screenshots are circulating on the internet as expected (you can see one just above this paragraph).
We shouldn’t forget that not too long ago, Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, mentioned at the Final Fantasy Fan Fest 2023 that many Square Enix video games would be coming to the Microsoft console. This announcement took place during the event dedicated to Final Fantasy, making it clear that Final Fantasy VII Remake shouldn’t be too far on the horizon, especially considering it’s a title that was released three and a half years ago.
